LOWER DANUBE. Uncertain tribe. Circa 3rd-2nd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 13.21 g, 11 h), imitating Philip II of Macedon. Celticized laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. Celticized horseman to right, wearing crested helmet; the head of the horse formed out of pellets. Dembski -. Flesche -. Lanz -. OTA -. Preda -. Extremely rare. A lightly toned piece of very attractive style. Slightly porous and with two test cuts on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
